Meet the Coach

Coach Watkins

Husband. Father. Coach. Mentor. A four-year Division I college football starter, two-time All-Conference selection, and one of the top offensive line coaches in Texas.

Jerel D. Watkins #69 — UTEP Football playing career collage
Coach Watkins mentoring a young athlete at UTEP

Jerel Watkins played college football at UTEP from 2010 to 2015, earning a four-year starting role and two All-Conference selections at two positions — Left Guard and Left Tackle. His time in the trenches built the foundation for everything he teaches today.

After his playing career, Coach Watkins dedicated himself to developing the next generation. He's helped develop multiple Division I linemen and mentored countless young athletes both academically and athletically. Recognized by Dave Campbell's Texas Football as one of the top offensive line coaches in Texas 5A/6A.

Before coach, before anything — Jerel is a husband and father of two daughters. Family first, always.
